Digital utility unveils two Amazon efficiency bundles

US digital utility Arcadia Power has partnered with Amazon to improve energy efficiency for smart home consumers.

Arcadia Power and Amazon have launched two new home energy efficiency bundles.

Using the Basic and Plus Home Efficiency bundles, the two companies will install smart home devices for consumers at zero upfront cost.

The bundles are available in ten cities throughout the US and will equip consumers with devices including smart thermostats, smart plugs and LED lighting.

The programme will last for 36 months and will be expanding to additional cities in 2019.

Kiran Bhatraju, Arcadia Power CEO, said: “The cheapest energy is the energy we don’t use, and our Home Efficiency Bundles expand energy efficiency access across the US through a subscription payment, with zero upfront costs”.

According to the EPA, smart thermostats could save households anywhere from eight to 20% in power bills. Meanwhile, studies show that upfront cost is among the greatest barriers to consumer adoption of energy efficient devices.
